Catalina Island doesn’t need much introduction. It’s consistently ranked among the best islands in the Caribbean, and its reef — known as The Wall — is one of the most spectacular snorkeling sites in the entire Dominican Republic. Our VIP tour gets you there in style, keeps you comfortable all day, and brings you back full of good food and great memories.
What Happens on the Tour
Your day begins at Río Salado Pier in La Romana, where a premium catamaran is waiting. Hotel transport from Punta Cana is included. From the moment you step aboard, the VIP experience is in full effect — open bar, comfortable seating, and the open Caribbean ahead of you.
The catamaran sails through the turquoise waters of the southern coast, arriving at Catalina Island in approximately 45 minutes. The first stop is The Wall — a dramatic reef drop-off where the coral plunges from shallow water into deep blue, creating an underwater landscape of extraordinary beauty. Your guide takes the group to the best spots along the reef, where visibility regularly exceeds 20 meters and marine life ranges from sea turtles to large schools of tropical fish.
After snorkeling, you move to Catalina’s main beach — a stretch of white sand so pristine it’s frequently used as a backdrop for professional photo shoots. A full Dominican lunch is set up in a shaded beachside area: grilled fresh fish, rice, salads, tropical fruits, and all the drinks you could want. Spend the afternoon swimming, walking the shoreline, or simply settling into a hammock with the Caribbean in front of you.
The catamaran returns to Río Salado Pier in the late afternoon, with transport back to your hotel in Punta Cana.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is ‘The Wall’ at Catalina Island?
A: The Wall is a famous reef formation along the northern coast of Catalina Island where the shallow reef drops sharply into deep water, creating a dramatic underwater cliff face. It is one of the most celebrated snorkeling and diving sites in the entire Dominican Republic, known for exceptional visibility, abundant marine life, and stunning coral formations at multiple depths.
Q: What is the difference between this VIP tour and the Catalina Island & Altos de Chavon combo?
A: The VIP tour focuses exclusively on Catalina Island, giving you more time on the beach and at The Wall, with a premium catamaran and a full sit-down lunch. The Altos de Chavon combo splits the day between the island and the historic village of Altos de Chavon, which is a different kind of experience — cultural rather than purely beach-focused.
Q: Is the catamaran comfortable for a full-day trip?
A: Yes. The catamaran is a modern, well-maintained vessel with comfortable deck seating, shade areas, and full onboard amenities including the open bar and a crew dedicated to your comfort. The sailing time each way is approximately 45 minutes in calm Caribbean waters.
Q: Can non-swimmers enjoy this tour?
A: Absolutely. Life vests are available for all participants. You can enjoy the catamaran, the beach, the lunch, and the open bar without entering the water. The snorkeling at The Wall is optional, not mandatory.
