Caribbean Island Paradise & Off-Road Jungle Adventure — Two Days, One Great Price.

Punta Cana has two sides. One is the Caribbean — warm, turquoise, and impossibly beautiful. The other is the interior — raw jungle, dusty trails, real villages, and a wild Atlantic beach that feels like the end of the world. Most visitors only see one. With this combo, you get both — and you pay less than you would booking each one separately.

Saona Island and the Macao Beach Buggy Adventure are two of the most talked-about experiences in the Dominican Republic. One is a full day of island bliss. The other is a half-day of adrenaline and mud. Together, they cover everything that makes Punta Cana extraordinary — and this combo is the best way to do it.

DAY 1 — SAONA ISLAND CLASSIC TOUR

There is no island in the Caribbean quite like Saona. Protected inside Parque Nacional del Este and reachable only by boat, it sits at the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic like it was placed there specifically to make people stop talking and start staring. White sand stretching as far as you can see. Coconut palms leaning over clear, warm water. A natural pool in the middle of the open ocean that doesn’t look real until you’re standing in it. This is what Saona Island looks like, and no photograph does it justice.

Your day starts early. Hotel pickup takes you to Bayahibe, where a speedboat is waiting to cut across the open Caribbean. The first stop is the Natural Pool — a legendary shallow sandbank where the water is waist-deep, the sand is pure white, and the horizon stretches endlessly around you. It’s one of those rare places that makes everyone go completely quiet the moment they arrive.

From the Natural Pool, the speedboat continues to Saona Island itself. The beach is long and unhurried, with palm shade and warm, calm sea. A full Dominican buffet is served beachside — fresh grilled fish, rice, salads, and tropical fruit — with an open bar flowing all afternoon. The return journey is by catamaran, with music, dancing, and a final hour on the Caribbean as the sun begins to drop. It’s a day that takes about ten hours and feels like about twenty minutes.

DAY 2 — WILD TRAIL BUGGY — MACAO BEACH

Macao Beach is not like the beach in front of your resort. There are no sunbeds, no waiters, no swim-up bars. There’s just the Atlantic Ocean hitting a long, wild stretch of Dominican coastline with a force that reminds you the sea is still the sea. Getting there through jungle trails in a 4×4 buggy makes the arrival even better.

After hotel pickup, you head to the buggy ranch where your guide runs a quick safety briefing and pairs you with your vehicle. Buggies are available solo or with a second rider. Helmets and goggles are provided — and you’ll be glad you have them.

The trail starts on a ranch access road and quickly becomes full off-road territory. Dusty paths cut through tropical forest. The convoy dips through muddy creek crossings, climbs rocky hillside sections, and opens up on long flat stretches where you can really let the throttle go. Your guide leads the group and keeps the pace exhilarating but safe for all experience levels.

Midway through, the convoy stops at a local Dominican village — a few minutes off the buggy, on solid ground, experiencing something genuinely authentic before the trail resumes. Then it’s the final push to Macao Beach, where the jungle ends and the Atlantic begins. The beach arrival hits you all at once: wide open sky, powerful surf, and white sand that stretches to the horizon. Swim, walk the shoreline, or just stand at the water’s edge and take it in. After everything the trail threw at you, it’s exactly the reward it should be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why are the two tours on different days?

A: Saona Island is a full-day experience lasting approximately 10 hours — you will be on the water and at the beach from early morning until early evening. The Macao Beach Buggy Adventure is a morning or afternoon activity lasting 3 hours. Attempting both on the same day would leave no time to enjoy either one properly. Two separate days means you get the full, unhurried experience of each — which is exactly what they both deserve.

Q: How do I confirm my Macao Beach Buggy Adventure date and time?

A: Your Saona Island date is selected during the standard booking process on this page. For the Macao Beach Buggy Adventure, simply email reservas@adventuresfinder.com after completing your booking. Let us know your preferred date and which departure time works best — 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, or 2:30 PM — and we will confirm availability within 24 hours. We recommend reaching out as soon as possible after booking to secure your preferred slot.

Q: Do I need experience to drive the buggy?

A: No prior off-road experience is needed. If you can drive a regular car, you can drive this buggy. Your guide provides a full safety briefing before departure and leads the convoy throughout the trail at a pace that is manageable for all skill levels — including complete first-timers. Drivers must be 18 or older with a valid driving licence.

Q: What is the difference between Single Driver, Single Driver + 1 Child, and Double Occupancy?

A: Single Driver means one adult in the buggy, driving solo. Single Driver + 1 Child means one adult driving with one child (aged 3–17) as a passenger in the same buggy — same price as solo. Double Occupancy means two adults sharing the same buggy — the price shown (US$230 combo / US$270 regular) is the total price for both people combined, not per person. Both adults can take turns driving or one can be the designated driver throughout.

Q: Is the buggy tour suitable for children?

A: Yes — children ages 3 and up can ride as passengers in the buggy alongside an adult driver. The trail is genuine off-road terrain and can be bumpy, so children must be comfortable sitting in a moving vehicle and wearing a helmet. The minimum driver age is 18. Saona Island is excellent for children of all ages

Q: What if I need to change one of my tour dates?

A: No problem — contact us at reservas@adventuresfinder.com as early as possible and we will do our best to accommodate a new date, subject to availability. We recommend giving at least 48 hours notice for any changes.
